3K - $117K a year Defibtech is seeking a Manufacturing Manager responsible for the development and execution of the product manufacturing plan in support of the company's sales and financial objectives.
This includes the hands-on development of process, staff, and assets in support of company strategies to expand in-house manufacturing and assembly capabilities.
This position is based onsite at our manufacturing facility in Branford, CT.
Core
Responsibilities:
Creates a Production Plan, based on company sales objectives, in consideration of employee and equipment capacities and financial objectives.
Manages the day-to-day operation of factory site(s) to achieve the Production Plan, including shop floor control plan that defines localized leadership and enables effective supervision.
Develops and maintains performance to a department budget.
Establishes production goals that align to the company's plans and annual objectives and reports out and publishes KPI's on a weekly and daily basis.
Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering to introduce new products or significant product upgrades to the factory floor in conjunction with the Mechanical Engineers at Defibtech.
Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering to identify process improvements, including time studies, and champion related improvement projects.
Serves as the production leader on multi-disciplinary project teams.
Serves as Quality System leader in support of production Quality Assurance objectives.
Supports and leads root cause investigation and correction of manufacturing discrepancies.
Represents production interests in the development of a Company build plan to support timely customer deliveries.
Serves as a permanent member of the Safety Committee and provides primary leadership to maintain a safe factory work environment.
Supports the development and skills of competent and effective electromechanical assembly teams to support new product lines at Defibtech.
Receives employee feedback and incorporates into solutions; support employee's questions and concerns as they arise.
Demonstrates Defibtech's values on the job and promotes and participates in continuous improvement.
Actively supports compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including but not limited to FDA, Quality Systems Regulations, safety regulations and applicable statutes).
Provides oversight and supervision for assigned employees and functional teams.
Provides leadership and positive communication to create an environment that fosters engagement.
Provides constructive and timely coaching and feedback to support a learning culture.
Establishes clear standards for individual performance and creates a work environment that allows for the achievement of high performance and individual development goals.
Supervises and manages employees in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous supervisory experience.
Electro-mechanical manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience in Medical Device manufacturing is preferable, or other highly regulated industry such as QS or ISO quality systems.
Lean/Six Sigma certification or training, and practical experience, desired.
Demonstrated skills and abilities as an ERP/MRP systems user.
Ability to analyze processes and systems and implement changes to drive cost improvements or efficiencies.
Demonstrated record of creative problem solving and an ability to thrive in a fast-changing, fast-paced environment.
Strong work ethic and self-starter able to contribute both individually and as a leader with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives.
Strong leadership skills and ability to create a disciplined and motivated work environment.
Ability to motivate people in a positive way to build and maintain a culture of respect.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The work environment includes office, warehouse, and assembly areas.
Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 lbs; frequent walking/standing.
