Teaching and Learning Position definition:
Provides leadership and oversight for all curricular areas in grades 5 through 12.
Works collaboratively across the learning community to ensure effective instruction for student learning.
Supervision received:
Receives general direction from and reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
Supervision exercised:
Supervises and evaluates department leaders, instructional coach(es) and interventionists (RtI) in grades 5-12.
Supports middle school and high school administrators in facilitating building-based leadership teams.
Salary:
per Branford Bargaining Contract - $142,423 - $149,919 Start Date:
July 2024 Examples of essential duties:
Guides curriculum revision, development, implementation, assessment and evaluation.
Leads the planning of professional development for grade 5-12 teachers in collaboration with building and district administrators.
Utilizes student performance data to monitor student growth and ensure efficacious implementation of curriculum and programs.
Sustains a presence in classrooms to reinforce implementation of high-quality instructional practices aligned with the district's definition of deep learning.
Creates conditions for collaborative teacher-led teams.
Contributes to the development and management of the district's operating budget to support teaching and learning.
Works with various stakeholders to develop and implement instructional policies and practices that maximize student learning.
Demonstrates the core value of continuous improvement by investing in ongoing professional learning and personal growth.
Leads work on standards-based and proficiency grading and reporting.
Minimum qualifications required:
Current Secondary content area certification required, Administrative Certification (092) required Minimum 7 years of successful secondary teaching experience in core content area Proven history of curriculum and instructional leadership Physical, mental exertion/environmental conditions:
There is regular intermittent exposure to computer screen.
Performs duties in an office environment.
May be required to lift and move weights up to 20 pounds.
Uses repetitive motions in operating office equipment, including keyboards, calculators, fax machines and copiers.
Must be able to hear clearly (correctable to within normal limits) to record telephone information, and to see (vision correctable to 20/20) to complete applications and forms.
Adaptive technology may be used.
