For Sale: 2001 Volkswagen Van in Branford, Connecticut for sale in Branford, CT

1 of 25
Vehicle Description 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan Winnebago Camper This VW Camper Van (EuroVan Winnebago Camper - the modern version of the Westfalia) was purchased brand new, the day before Thanksgiving, in 2002 from Montesi Volkwagen, in North Haven CT.
She's had one owner in that entire time and has resided on the eastern shoreline of CT that entire time.
From day one, she was used as a camper, taking her family up and down the eastern seaboard but mostly to Maine.
She was driven in the rain but has seen little or no winter driving/camping.
As the Winnebago Camper version of the VW EuroVan (there are 3 versions of the EuroVan - the MV, the Weekender and the Winnebago Camper) she comes equipped to be nearly 100% self sufficient.
There is a small propane or electric powered refrigerator, fresh water tank with sink and outdoor shower area, grey water tank, 2 burner propane stove (none of which show any wear, almost like they weren't ever used) storage closet and drawers, under seat storage, separate rear compartment battery (will need a new one), separate rear section propane heat, engine based rear heater, lower pull out bed and the iconic VW pop up, which adjusts so one can stand up fully in the living area or as a secondary bed.
She seats and sleeps four.
The front seats swivel and the separate clip on tables drop into place so that 4 people can eat together.
It does not have a toilet, however, the new dry composting toilets are compact and work well.
One would fit under the rear compartment and with the included privacy curtains, a small bathroom could be had.
The camper has 70,000 very well maintained miles, with brakes, front tires, new top seal and a new transmission being the latest items to see attention, all within about 5000 miles/ 2 years.
The owner reportedly has most, if not all, of the receipts of the work handled by a local repair shop that specializes in foreign makes, over the last 20 years.
All the electronics work, (wipers, lights, power windows, stereo, locks, etc) except the power mirrors.
The pop up canvas is in great condition, however, one of the screens has a very small tear, as seen in the photos.
The engine starts easily and runs and idles smoothly.
The 2.
8L VR6 engine puts out over 200HP and 181 lb feet of torque.
Although it's moving a full on mini-camper, combined with the new auto-transmission, you can feel the engine pulling and she does accelerate well.
It is a front drive set up, with evidence the front CV axles have been replaced at some point.
The body is rust/rot free, there is some, as expected for 70K miles, surface rust on the under-pinnings.
The body showing a couple small dings here and there.
The owners have decided to downsize and get back into straight tent camping, so are looking to move this VW Winnebago Camper on to another adventurous couple/family.
They simply wanted me to shoot her the way she was, so she'll need some deep cleaning on the interior and a good wash and wax on the outside.
Someone willing to give her the needed TLC will have a most excellent VW Camper for weekend getaways, music festivals, etc.
Many of these, with slightly lesser miles and in just a bit better condition, have sold for upwards of $40,000 recently.
She's being offered for $27,500, negotiable.
